Restore Root Connection with Mother Nature.
Everything was once natural, including the place where we call our home and the streets that take us to where we were going. Everything was once natural, including ourselves. Our relationship with nature cannot be underestimated. At a time when the evolution of our modern society has enveloped us with every convenience imaginable, we are taken further away from our relationship with the natural world. As the oceans fill up with plastic and we rely on Uber Eats and Door Dash to feed us, very few of us know how to farm, hunt, fish, grow our own food and create a sustainable living. I’m personally only scratching the surface. This current relationship with nature doesn’t have to be a negative thing we just have to recognize it and have an awareness of our disconnection with the natural world. Once we turn our attention that everything was once natural - be it a grassy field, a jungle, a mountainside or riverbed. At one point it was just simply land. Our use of the land and nature has increasingly put more demand on Mother Nature herself to the point where we are raging battles about the state of our ever-changing natural world.
This idea that everything was once natural gives hope that even in a concrete jungle we can still connect with what is natural by simply connecting to what is. A simple walk outside in the early morning dawn will grant you the pleasures of listening to the birds awaken with the morning air, witnessing the dew the covers the grass on these perfectly manicured lawns that we have created for ourselves, and in all of our efforts to create beautiful landscaping we can see countless flowers and plants that we work so hard to put into the ground to watch grow, filling our world with beautiful colors of life. All it takes is a stroll through that concrete jungle with a different sense of perspective to notice what is lying underneath the concrete, the asphalt, the foundation of your home. I encourage of us to reconnect with the root system of the natural world, restore your connection with the root connection with Mother Nature. “As you transform yourself, you transform the world,”- says Anodea Judith in Eastern Body, Western Mind. Perhaps when you feel intuitively called step outside of your automatic driving Tesla, take your shoes off and plant them firmly in the grass and just notice what is. Perhaps you will start feeling the energy from the core of the earth through the bottom of your feet, into your heart, your soul, into your mind, and into your physical body. And when this happens simply notice what is. To what is this life that I have lived? What is my purpose what do I want to give?
Once we’ve created this perspective about how much the natural world has changed, then we can look inside to see how much we have changed. How much have we changed from our original self? We were once all love and pure innocence until the world slowly started stripping that away and creating an identity, which we call our personal reality, which in turn becomes our personality (Thank you Dr. Joe Dispenza).
If you feel the tug inside you pulling you in a different direction, asking your heart questions that you can’t answer, then I encourage you to listen and feel into what that is and where it’s taking you. And being very gentle with yourself and with others. Next time you walk past the tree, or barefoot through a park, ask yourself what it is that you see. Are these objects significant to your being? Awaken yourself from Natural Poverty and restore your root connection with Mother Nature.
